Introduction
This policy is issued by eOffice Campus Networks, LLC (operating as eOffice® Network) and governs the procedures for internal transfers of eOffice® Domain (3LD) licenses between users and the process for remapping licensed eOffice® Domains to point to different Online Offices within eOffice® Network.
1. Transferring an eOffice® Domain License
An eOffice® Domain is granted to the eOffice® Domain Licensee as a limited, revocable license, and is non-transferable, non-assignable, unless transferred or assigned under the following process:
Transfer Eligibility
Transfers or assignments are permitted between any two registered eOffice® Domain Licensees (individuals or organizations) when the transfer is facilitated through the official process described in this section.
Transfer Types
- Organizational Transfers: Transferring an online office and related project to a successor within the same organization.
- Personal Trading: Transferring the domain license to a different individual user for private consideration (sale/trade) or gift.
Authorization Required
All internal transfers or assignments must be authorized by eOffice® Network in writing before any administrative change is made. The authorization ensures both parties are compliant users and the license transfer is properly recorded.
Procedure
The transferring Licensee must submit a request via the Contact Form (Select “Domain License Questions”) or email domains@eoffice.com for review. The request must include:
- Verification of identity for both the transferring and receiving parties.
- The full name and account details of the intended recipient Licensee.
- Acknowledgement that the transfer fee (if applicable) is non-refundable.
License Continuity
The recipient of the transferred domain license must agree to all terms of the Domain License Agreement and Terms of Service (TOS). The licensed term of the domain is transferred “as is.”
2. Remapping the eOffice® Domain Destination
While the eOffice® Domain name itself is fixed (e.g., jane.smith.eoffice.com), the Online Office that it points to (its hosted destination) can be changed, allowing the owner to update their professional site without changing their domain identity.
Process Overview
An eOffice® Domain Licensee can request to remap their currently licensed eOffice® Domain to a different, active Online Office they own within eOffice® Network.
Procedure
- The Online Office Owner must ensure they have an active license for the eOffice® Domain.
- The Online Office Owner must have full ownership/control over the destination Online Office as defined in the Terms of Service (TOS).
- A request must be submitted to eOffice® Network via domains@eoffice.com or the Contact Form (Select “Domain License Questions”).
- The request must explicitly name the Licensed eOffice® Domain (the pointer) and the Destination Online Office ID or URL.
Effect of Remapping and Limitation
Upon approval, eOffice® Network will update the internal system’s DNS-like mapping (C-name equivalent), causing the eOffice® Domain to resolve to the new Online Office destination. This process may take up to 24 hours to propagate across eOffice® Network. A licensed eOffice® Domain can only point to one Online Office at a time. The destination Online Office must be fully compliant with the Terms of Service (TOS).
3. Breach and Revocation of License
As the Licensor, eOffice® Network retains full authority over the domain license.
Breach
In the event of a breach of the eOffice® Domain License Agreement, TOS, or Domain Rules (including Prohibited Activities like spam, phishing, or trademark infringement), eOffice® Network reserves the right to immediately delete, cancel, revoke, suspend, or lock the subject eOffice® Domain without prior notification or refund of fees paid (Domain License Agreement, Section 13).
Disputes
In the event of a dispute concerning the license or use of an eOffice® Domain, eOffice® Network may take necessary action, including “locking” the domain, until the dispute is fully resolved (Domain License Agreement, Section 9).
